Hiding From Everyone You Know by Right Shoes

Dear listeners and readers of Soundville,

Today we’re tuning in to the debut album “Hiding From Everyone You Know” from the incredibly cool rock band Right Shoes. The four members of Right Shoes have combined all their energy, emotions, life perspectives, and stories to make sure each of the 10 tracks sounds truly great and unforgettable. Right Shoes has crafted their first full-fledged concept album, blending indie rock, garage, classic rock and power pop to shape their unique and diverse sound. Their style shows a commitment to the classic rules of rock, but these rules have been so meticulously reworked that what emerges is an inexplicably stunning sound. Rich. Stylish. Flawless. The vivid lyrics in the album convey all the shades of uncertainty about the world, paired with a desire to be both open and in the spotlight.

That light duality familiar, isn’t it? Can we really consider ourselves self-aware if we aren’t honest with ourselves? Do we even know who we are? And what about those around us? Where does truth end and fiction begin? How often do we need fiction to shield our vulnerability? And how many versions of ourselves hide in reflections? These are complex and incredibly intriguing themes that frontman Shua explores in the album’s lyrics. His writing is both metaphorical and sharp, adding new layers of meaning to the alt-rock album. I suggest we dive in right now, starting with the first track, “Chameleon.”

Do you hear those divine guitars? Oh, the production is out of this world. The rich sound flows into your mind like hot glaze, and your world will never be the same once you’ve heard Right Shoes. The vocals are sharp, strained just enough to send a subconscious shiver through me. The soft, low backing vocals balance the sound, acting like a kind of safety net.

“You don’t know a thing about me,
how could you when I never let you see what’s real?

Right Shoes rips off the masks and speaks honestly about what others stay silent on. This plea, this breakdown, and the pain of life’s duality are all present in “Catwalk.” With a strong rhythm, shifting structure, vivid lyrics, and a pleading vocal that seems to speak directly to your soul and heart. And the mind? The mind isn’t always a reliable advisor in matters like these, wouldn’t you agree? “Memorial Sunday” encourages you to be open, not fear the constraints of the mind, and surrender to your emotions, tasting the freedom and happiness that comes from fulfilling your life’s purpose.

The chemistry between the members really shines in “Trebek.” Slow contemplation, melancholic memories, and an unhurried, slightly raspy vocal reveal Right Shoes as masters of any sound they touch. This rock ballad about love, loss, and devotion stirs up deep melancholy. Right Shoes blends tones and chords in such a magical way that it hits right at the core. You feel it, don’t you? But the sound won’t hold you in melancholy for too long.

With respect and love for the classic sound, “Feel Free” storms in like a hurricane. But don’t expect Right Shoes to follow clichés. Even here, the classic guitars and light vocal flows, hinting at blues rock, mix with punk’s sensuality, creating a fiery cocktail that fully intoxicates the listener. I’ll admit, this is my favorite track on the release.

I can assure you that by the end of the album, you won’t be able to resist swaying along. That’s exactly what happened to me during “Watching the Door.” The bass guitar whispers seductive little words through its pulsing sound, the drums pull you into a whirlwind of rhythm, the guitars explode with juicy riffs and sweet solos, and the vocals, like a skilled lover, keep you hooked on every note, never letting you break free from the captivating sound. Oh, is it even legal to be this hot?

The album wraps up with “Night,” offering a sense of comfort. Gentle strings add a dreamy quality, while textured synth elements release light, electric sounds into the air. Right Shoes shifts to a slower pace, drawing out the pleasure and inviting you to reflect on everything that the album’s brilliant lyrics have awakened in your mind. This closing track is so epic, with its bright vocal harmonies and explosive atmosphere, that it makes you want to listen to “Hiding From Everyone You Know” all over again once the final note fades. An unforgettable release that reveals rising stars on the indie rock scene. Absolute success!

Hey Right Shoes! Thank you for releasing such cool, unique, and stylish rock music. While listening, the energy is off the charts, it feels like your passion and inspiration are embedded in every track. If your album has this kind of electric energy, I can only imagine what your live shows must be like probably the epicenter of electricity! I wish I could experience that. I’m absolutely blown away and inspired by your sound. I have to give a special shout-out to the incredible production that kept every instrument rich and the vocal tone so unique. Please keep making this amazing music, it’s truly something! I’m definitely sharing your album with everyone I know so they can hear your awesome sound too. Yeah!
