Dear listeners and readers of Soundville,
I would like to share with you a very bright and catchy Americana album with elements of rock and rock ‘n’ roll, ‘Fever’ by The Imaginaries. The Imaginaries are a husband-and-wife duo who are an example of how indie music can become more than just a hobby. Starting as an indie duo, The Imaginaries gained recognition by performing at festivals, creating music for the ‘San Andreas’ film soundtracks, and releasing more than 75 records. And this works as an inspiring example that if you love what you do and keep striving, everything will definitely work out. To gain this confidence and energy to move forward, as well as simply to have a great time, will help their new album ‘Fever’. Conceptually, ‘Fever’ is a very touching and personal story with a rich sound, created and recorded in Muscle Shoals with guest features from Vince Gill, Joe Bonamassa, and Ariel Posen. I would like for a second to highlight the sound quality and the production of the whole album, because each of the 12 tracks sounds as if The Imaginaries are performing them for you right in your headphones. This creates a feeling of unity and understanding that makes the music of The Imaginaries very touching and personal, immediately striking the deep strings of the soul. Maggie’s flawless piano and Shane’s blues guitar merge together like in a dance of lovers, creating that very sound which, once you hear it, you will not be able to forget.

I suggest you take a pause, get comfortable with your favorite headphones, and enjoy the amazing sound of ‘Fever’, and I would like to highlight a few tracks that stayed in my head long after listening to the album.
And without a doubt, it is the first song, ‘Fever’, that bursts into your headphones and immediately changes everything around. An amazing Americana with commercial hooks, Shane’s bright guitar and Maggie’s stylish keys leave no choice, only to turn up the volume, speed up, and just give in to this boundless energy. I can’t stop listening to the track ‘Wishing Well’ featuring Ariel Posen. This track adds playfulness to the blues sound, and the voices of Maggie McClure and Shane Henry call and tease each other, creating the feeling of a real live performance that you want to watch and sing along with. I like this atmosphere of friendliness and attention that sounds between the notes in ‘Fever’. It makes the album very pleasant and personal. When I heard ‘Constant’, I couldn’t resist its seductive sound.
There is something atmospheric and mystical about it, I would even say something from the myths. Because the atmosphere of ‘Constant’ is very gentle, soft, almost close to acoustic sound but keeping The Imaginaries’ unique tone. This track is perfect for dreaming and getting inspired. Undoubtedly one of my favorite tracks. And when the next track, ‘I Knew It Was You’, starts after such a cozy and melancholic song, it’s impossible to stay still. To the incredibly groovy rhythm, you just want to sway and enjoy the perfect mix of styles. Maggie’s bright keys intertwine with Shane’s guitar, and their voices soar as if telling a very warm and tender story. And you know what? It’s wonderful that on the album ‘Fever’ each song has its own atmosphere, so every track can become your personal soundtrack for your mood and moments in life. ‘Little by Little’ sounds very spring-like and airy, with Maggie’s cozy vocals and wonderful lyrics that give you goosebumps. This track creates a gentle pause so you can take a breath, feel the moment, and become part of a big and meaningful story.

If you need a track to listen to at full volume and sing along with, I definitely recommend you listen to ‘Breaker’. The atmosphere created by ‘Breaker’ lets you see everything here in this life, feeling love, trust, and lightness. Perhaps it is because of such personal and deep emotions evoked by the songs that this album can become your companion for many years to come. The incredible rock guitars, sensual rhythm, and amazing dynamics in ‘Riding That High’ make it my favorite on the release. I like the bright energetic melody and the cinematic voices of Maggie and Shane, which blend together to create an amazing commercial vibe. In the chorus, I could imagine ‘Riding That High’ as a soundtrack for a movie, and you know, I think there are so many commercial hooks here that sooner or later we might hear this track on the big screen.
The album ‘Fever’ ends with the slow and cozy track ‘Lucky Ones’. You know, when you listen to track after track, ‘Lucky Ones’ can even catch you off guard and bring a lump to your throat because it is so warm and comforting. It holds a lot of strength, love, and recognition, which you immediately feel and want to keep in your heart for a long time. And it’s a very beautiful ending to the album that makes you want to listen to ‘Fever’ all over again. It was incredibly stylish. Wow! I recommend you add your favorite tracks from the album to your playlist so that such wonderful, stylish music is always with you. And be sure to follow The Imaginaries so you don’t miss even more great music, and maybe you’ll get to catch them live in your city. Definitely check them out.
Hey The Imaginaries! Thank you for letting go of such amazing and captivating music. You know, when I listen to “Fever,” I was overwhelmed with a feeling of understanding. Every track sounds flawless, and I could create little mini-movies in my head while enjoying it. “Fever” inspires and creates a feeling in which you can relive some moments from life and accept them. This is quite valuable for music, and that is why I was really so excited. I am sure your songs will keep spinning in my head for a long time, and it would be cool to hear you live! If the album carries so much energy, then I anticipate what emotions your live show brings. I will definitely show your release to everyone, everyone, so they also listen to such a cool and stylish sound. I love this and want more! I’m your fan!
