Finding Your Path: Paul Nourigat’s New Album ‘Curious Directions’ Arrives October 24

Dear listeners and readers of Soundville,

I have excellent news for you, because on October 24th the sixth album by Paul Nourigat ‘Curious Directions’ is coming out. This is an album consisting entirely of original songs by Paul Nourigat. ‘Curious Directions’ reflects the idea of possibilities, forks in life, roads and paths that a person follows throughout their entire life. Each of the roads that a person chooses is reflected in their fate in one way or another, forming a unique path, and everything depends on the decisions that a person makes. Paul comprehends this theme in ‘Curious Directions’ and through 15 tracks creates a truly unique path that is perceived as a mirror of one’s own life.

It’s even curious that what led to the creation of ‘Curious Directions’ was precisely Nourigat’s choice to start creating music. Without this decision, which brought Paul to this point, we wouldn’t be able to enjoy such multi-genre and interesting ballads. He picked up his first guitar in 2018 and since then has created six albums and more than 50 original songs. Paul continues to release wonderful music. The songs that Paul writes are ballads that tell stories in which any listener can find themselves.

I like that Paul uses a light acoustic sound, mixes folk, country, rock and a bit of pop music, draws inspiration from old melodies, and all of this transforms into a unique sound. Perhaps that’s exactly why ‘Curious Directions’ feels like a conversation with a close friend who shares their thoughts and is always glad to hear the other person in response. This is exactly the atmosphere that the album ‘Curious Directions’ possesses, which I was able to listen to before its release. I would like to say that a truly deep and stunning release awaits us all, one that can help many get through important moments in life, and also simply create an atmosphere for reflecting, thinking about the world, life and close people. Take a pause, put your things aside, and I would like to highlight several songs from the album that form the mood of ‘Curious Directions’ and hooked me the most. Get ready, because we’re starting!

Of course, this is the track ‘Curious Directions’, with cozy guitar, bright rhythm and an amazingly airy country-rock atmosphere. You’ll be able to simply disconnect from the constant negativity that surrounds us now in this reality, and allow your mind to flow with the positive, light and flawless sound of Paul Nourigat. I like how this track creates a very cozy and safe atmosphere in which you can once again remember the importance of friendship and close people. Then there’s the track ‘Sliding Side-to-Side’, performed in the surf-rock genre. It tells about all the twists and turns encountered on life’s path. This very concept of the track reflects the overall idea of the album ‘Curious Directions’, the roads that are encountered in life, choices leading to consequences, and the necessity to sometimes go through bumps and winding paths to achieve your goal.

Paul speaks about understandable and important themes, and for me this is a reflection of how music connects people with each other and encourages reflection. Personally, I received an incredible charge of energy and many thoughts, all of this unites us with an invisible thin thread and makes the album ‘Curious Directions’ very personal. The track ‘They’re Counting You’ is bright country that immediately lifts your spirits. The excellent vocals of Paul hook you, and the lyrics draw attention to the theme of gambling. ‘They’re Counting You’ is a warning for everyone who tries to win at any cost. I like that Paul sounds like a mentor who shares his experience with listeners, telling about everything without holding back.

I am absolutely delighted with the track ‘Don’t Say Game Over’. Paul’s message in this song is energetic country-rock with excellent rhythm, soft guitar and expressive vocals from Paul. This song was born from the life experience and reflects his attitude to life, formed by difficulties and self-doubt. However, the presence of kind people who helped overcome difficulties, supported and gave confidence, ultimately led Paul to success. This track carries an important message, to look forward, stay on the bright side of life and not be afraid to accept support.

It would seem such a simple phrase, but in reality it’s not easy to implement. However, when there are artists and music helping to overcome fear and instilling self-confidence, you can consider that half the path is already completed. That’s precisely why the track ‘Don’t Say Game Over’ is undoubtedly my favorite. Also I would like to highlight the track ‘Imagined Places We’d Fly’ with its excellent combination of folk-rock, lightness, hope and faith in the future. I like that this track brings back the idea of dreaming, the idea that each of us should dream and not forget about it. The track is based on the life experience of Paul: as he admits, he himself was already planning a journey when he still couldn’t afford it, and in the end he achieved his goal. I really like this idea and atmosphere of ‘Curious Directions’.

If you’re looking for something lighter and more joyful that allows you to believe in yourself and your strength, then ‘Bit Loose and Carefree’ is for you. With swaying lyrics and excellent energy, it seems that this folk-country track helps you believe in your own strength, in the strength of your friend and in general in the power of this world, that after all we, as humanity, can overcome absolutely all obstacles that might separate us or lead to more complex problems on a personal level. ‘Bit Loose and Carefree’ is perceived as possibility and power. I must admit, this immediately hooks you. In the modern world there is a real lack of such bright, positive, light and excellent-sounding songs. I recommend you mark October 24th in your calendar and subscribe to Paul, so that as soon as the album comes out, you can enjoy it as one of the first. And be sure to watch the videos for the musician’s singles, because they add conceptuality and emphasize the atmosphere of the release.

Hey, Paul! Thank you for releasing such amazing acoustic music. When I listened to your songs, I truly felt good, anxious thoughts went somewhere to the side, and instead came the thought that in life there are many paths that we choose ourselves or that someone chooses for us. Well, on this path, what to dream about. And most importantly, not to forget that there are close people nearby. This is very important. I received a truly excellent charge of energy, positive, and felt how much strength, inspiration and energy was put into ‘Curious Directions’. Simply flawless! I’m looking forward to the album’s release and will definitely show your release to everyone. I love it and want more!
