Dear listener and reader of Soundville, today we will talk about 2ŁØT and their new EP “The Albert Harvey Mix”, which consists of 4 dance remix interpretations by producer Albert Harvey, of original songs by 2ŁØT from their debut album “Entropy”. Albert Harvey created an amazingly new world of 2ŁØT’s music, expanding the sound universe and strengthening the concept and messages of 2ŁØT. But let’s talk a bit about 2ŁØT and the concept of the new release. 2ŁØT brings together Rudy Love Jr., Chase Koch, Omar Jawar II, Sage Judd, and Robert Trusko.
The first thing that distinguishes them from others is powerful music, which belongs to the original genre Electronic Jam Music (EJM). This unique name, created by 2ŁØT, reflects the mix of genres they use in their music. This is electronics, hip hop, rock, jazz and blues. But still, the prevalence of dance electronic sound distinguishes 2ŁØT on the dance arena and makes the group one of the most promising.
However, despite the drive and energy of the music, 2ŁØT was created not in the best period of its members’ lives. Each one was going through some difficult moments, which they had to experience and pour out into music. And 2ŁØT had an idea – to create tracks so they would hook listeners and bring into their lives, as well as the life of society, at least some changes. The music of 2ŁØT touches on many important themes and social problems, such as overcoming addiction, youth empowerment and criminal justice reform. The choice of a bright dance genre for spreading their idea among youth is an excellent step, which will undoubtedly find someone who will definitely listen to the ideas of 2ŁØT’s music. Simultaneously with this, I like that each of the 4 tracks in the EP possesses a romantic, philosophical character, which can make any listener enjoy real dance hits. So let’s proceed to listening, I am sure that the group’s music will definitely make an impression and will be remembered for a long time!
The EP opens with the track “Sacrifice The Albert Harvey Mix”, and this is a very emotional track in terms of music and delivery. You can feel an excellent mix of styles, with a predominance of dark pumping EDM sound. This is an ideal track for those who want to get more drive, bring unforgettable colors into the day and charge up with energy. Pumping vocals with light jazz elements add passion and playfulness to the track. You know, just turn it up louder and release all the inner demons!
I like the next track “Never Knew You (The Albert Harvey Mix)”. This is an electronic mix with a more romantic mood and light vocals. I like how the melody moves, its dynamics and revelation of the warmest and brightest moments. The flawless bass line pumps, and you might not notice how you already want to dance and just sway to the melody. Albert Harvey uses vocal parts very interestingly here, creating a mix of dance music with pop commercial genre. Really excellent duality, creates a unique and catchy sound. This interpretation possesses very refined sound, creating new images and expanding the sound universe of 2ŁØT.
I would like to highlight the track “Call For Me”, with its intrigue, haziness and juicy dance energy. This is a light track with an airy atmosphere of beach chill, which sounds incredibly romantic. The vocals of 2ŁØT are emphatically bright, commercial and create a feeling of lightness. Among the bright and dynamic remixes in “The Albert Harvey Mix”, “Call For Me” sounds like a light breeze, which pleasantly embraces. I like the light passion and sensuality in this track, something between the bars instills a feeling of desire and allows you to look around to see the world in its best side.This is worth striving for.
The EP concludes with the key track “Arrow of the time” featuring Michael Kang from The String Cheese Incident. I heard something very interesting from the first notes of the track, which, in my feeling, took me into a state of light trance thanks to the deep bass line. The saturation of the musical arrangement is simply impressive. It is very energetic, with a growing almost anxious tone. This track charges with energy and it seems that you can go through any life trials. This is a very powerful track with excellent lyrics and strong subtext. The melody intentionally develops slowly, creating a feeling of isolation, building atmosphere and power of sound.
However in it I confess that this track is one of the most favorite on the EP, especially thanks to the light female vocals, which add airiness and lightness! Wow this was simply amazing! The tracks in “The Albert Harvey Mix” are filled with amazing passion and energy, which immediately hooks. The remixes, created on the original tracks of 2ŁØT by Albert Harvey turned out incredibly successful, refreshed and amazing, which gives each song a special sound.
