Montreal’s General Chaos is a trio that started rehearsing at twelve years old and has already played Pouzza Fest, toured Quebec and Ontario, and recorded a debut with one of the Montreal scene’s top sound engineers. Their new single ‘Busted’ is the first taste of the upcoming album ‘Can’t Please ‘Em All’ (Stomp Records, May 8) and honestly, it’s a pretty great way to kick things off. ‘Busted’ does exactly what a punk single should: it hits fast, leaves a hook in your head, and ends before you’ve had time to get comfortable.

Driving riff, gang vocals on the chorus, a clear point about the cost of speaking your mind. I like how Constantin Blondy plays incredibly precisely, Rémi Jacques keeps the rhythm with discipline unexpected for his age, and Aude Deniger on bass moves the melody forward. And you heard that too, right? General Chaos sound as if they’re about to conquer the whole punk rock scene, and you know, I think they have every chance. I definitely recommend giving them a listen!
