Draymond, who is an underground artist, travels between Los Angeles and Tokyo and has developed a style of rap suitable for the internet age, incorporating elements of Southern melody, the emotion associated with the SoundCloud era and club culture. His most recent song, “iceberb”, combines these various influences using layered vocals, minimal production and a loose performance based on instinct.
Although the record shows a strong influence from Atlanta, its roots lie in a much more personal environment. Draymond came up with the song ‘iceberb’ during a intense month spent with his collaborator Scarsbleedpurple, who then moved to his couch while the two of them spent their days and nights making music.
“An example of the high quality club hits we can make. An introduction to dynamics in this genre context”

The sessions resulted in over 100 songs, ‘iceberb’ being one of the main tracks from that time.
Draymond’s influences are Tezzus, Don Toliver, Thouxanbanfauni, Yung Fazo, midwxst and SoFaygo. The artist ‘iceberb’ has a similar taste for melody, digital textures and emotionally charged rap, whereas Draymond gives the song an anonymous and fragmented character.
“As an example of the high-quality club hits that we can produce, together with an introduction to the concept of dynamics within this genre,” says Draymond.
