“Like a River” Showcases Josaleigh Pollett’s Powerful Songwriting and Atmospheric Sound

I urgently want to recommend a find that’s currently on constant repeat for me. It’s the single “Like a River” by Josaleigh Pollett. If you love indie rock with soul and deep lyrics, then this track is for you. “Like a River” – a monologue, over the course of which the author explores her inner world and learns to find peace within herself. And all of this, despite external triggers and countless sleepless nights.

What impressed me most is how skillfully Josaleigh Pollett works with sound: in “Like a River,” she’s created a kind of subtle folktronica that smoothly and naturally flows into indie. The arrangement is very, very rich, and the lines about how we sometimes let the “chains” of events pull us down hit straight to the heart.

The single leaves you with a kind of life-affirming feeling of release and lightness. I also want to specifically highlight the vocal delivery. The voices in “Like a River” intertwine so organically that you literally get shivers down your spine. Recommended!
