Mid-July and the radio’s still fighting over who owns the season. Kenjah just walked in and took the crown. Most people clocked her first on CBS, playing a fan-favourite on Beyond the Gates, closing in on episode 100 and reportedly in the mix for a 2026 Daytime Emmy. Turns out the acting was just the warm-up act. Music is where she actually lives.
“When I’m With You” opens on warm Patois harmonies, like she’s letting you into a family kitchen before the party even starts. Then the production stretches out, you know, reggae bones, an Afrobeats swing in the hips, R&B and pop gloss rubbed over the top till it shines.
The guitar does that island slink thing, all sun and salt water. Drums keep flipping into these sharp reggae fills right when the track needs a jolt. And that chorus stacked harmonies, dead simple, absolutely lethal. You’ll be singing it in the shower two days from now and won’t remember learning the words.
