gunshots or fireworks Return With Their Second EP “DÉSORDRE”

There’s a particular kind of desert-band restlessness running through DÉSORDRE, the second EP from Arizona’s gunshots or fireworks. All four tracks on the EP DÉSORDRE have ’90s indie-rock DNA running through them.

DÉSORDRE gathers songs born from uncertainty, tension, and the growing sense that the world around us is slipping out of balance, and “Open Mic” sits right at its molten center.

The finale track, “Open Mic,” starts with stormy guitars and an amazingly powerful rhythm section, pacing itself as it saves energy for something bigger. And it does. It takes some time to reach the chorus, where everything finally cracks open. DÉSORDRE production keeps things raw enough to feel handmade. Уou can hear the DIY fingerprints all over it.

Too many groups in this lane front-load every section with noise until the dynamics flatten out, gunshots or fireworks understand that tension is the whole game, and “Open Mic” plays that game patiently.
