Claudio Conti began recording his own songs in 2003 with Botticelli, a collage that set his career in motion. Since then, the Italian singer-songwriter has led Magic Salad, released three solo albums and carried his music through periods spent in Chicago, Los Angeles and London. “Verità” was released on September 9, offering the first glimpse of his fourth album, “Kierkegaarden”.
A title “Verità” meaning “truth” suggests certainty. Claudio finds something far messier.
“Verità” studies the “sliding doors” hidden among them: a missed meeting here, a choice made there, one ordinary afternoon whose consequences stretch across years.
Each instrument has a precise role. The harpsichord adds its antique flash, the English horn introduces a deep autumnal colour, and the acoustic guitar keeps the entire arrangement close to the earth.
