Had this one on repeat since yesterday and I’m still trying to figure out why it hits so hard for a track this simple. Aird opens with this amazing guitar riff, and ith her sunny vocals. Perfect. Smart move honestly. The voice of Jeanie Aird sits right up close to the mic, and it makes the whole thing feel like she’s singing straight into your ear, for you.

The chorus is the part that gets me, deceptively basic melody, burrows in and refuses to leave. I caught myself humming it in this morning, which, say what you want, is the ultimate compliment for a pop song. Production stays acostic and warm, and honestly the restraint is the whole trick here. Aird just lets the song breathe and trusts it’s enough. Spoiler: it is. Big fan of where this is heading, watching her next moves closely.
