The relatively new band OURBIRTHDAY burst onto the scene not too long ago with their debut single “SQUEEZY.” Genre-wise it’s dance pop, though I’d even say there’s a nice lean toward an energizing fusion here.
What truly caught my attention in the song is the huge amount of work put into the arrangement.
In the verses, a flexible bassline takes the lead, holding up the track’s groove. It sets such a drive that it’s hardly possible to stand still.
The atmosphere of the song is downright explosive. Syncopated rhythms and synth riffs overlap and collide, forming that very energy in the choruses.
Personally, it seems to me that “SQUEEZY” is almost the perfect track for “squeezing” stress and complicated emotions out of yourself. Figuratively, of course. “SQUEEZY” is a must-have for listeners who love high-quality pop music.
