There are songs you listen to and immediately recognize would serve as a perfect soundtrack to memories. That’s exactly the impression left on me by the fresh pop-rock single “Clean Clothes” from the band Sleepy. The release is incredibly cozy and calming. Yet it’s not lacking in spark: listening to the track, I found myself repeatedly thinking that Sleepy is a band with a truly unique talent for elevating the mundane into something deeply meaningful. The musicians, as it were, echo: you’re cool exactly the way you are – that is, when you feel comfortable, free and confident.
Even if it seems to you that you’re doing something wrong. In the track “Clean Clothes,” at the same time, there’s not a drop of pathos. Instead, there is a disarming sincerity, which the instruments help reveal: guitar riffs envelop, and the rhythm section sets a confident groove. And especially what pleased me is how cleanly the single is mixed: every instrument in its place, and the vocals – too. I sincerely advise you to check out the work from these guys.
