UK-based artist Kansah has unveiled his new single ‘Sexy’. This release marks another step in the career of a performer. Kansah has long established himself as an artist without genre boundaries. His music effortlessly blends rap, grime, Afrobeats, amapiano and club-driven electronics. Kansah brings extensive experience to the table and his visuals have been featured on Trace Africa and MTV, meaning that by the time ‘Sexy’ arrived, his audience was already well and truly international.
The track ‘Sexy’ was created in Los Angeles in close collaboration with the producer and recorded on both sides of the Atlantic, partly in the USA and partly in the UK. Originally a more traditional Afrobeats record built around a deeper male vocal on the chorus, the production was ultimately reimagined entirely in favour of an Afro house fusion sound incorporating UK rap and R&B. It has to be said, that decision proved to be the right one. ‘Sexy’ sounds exactly the way a summer festival track should sound. Absolutely recommended.
