Texas country singer D’Lee released a new single ‘I’d Bet on You’ and did it on a grand scale: on the same day, May 14, her second full-length album ‘Fifty-Five’ was released. A double release that is hard not to notice. D’Lee has already managed to make a name for herself on Texas country radio with the tracks ‘Kissing Frogs’ and ‘If There’s a Place’, and, apparently, she is ready to move further with a bigger scope. ‘I’d Bet on You’ is that kind of country song you want to turn up loud. Recorded in Nashville, ‘I’d Bet on You’ is built on a bold, almost physical energy.
Driving guitars, light drums, and D’Lee’s signature smoky voice, which can both hurt and warm at the same time. In the single ‘I’d Bet on You’ D’Lee creates a reflection of that unrepeatable moment when the gaze lingers a little longer than it should, and the pulse quickens without warning. You know, there is such a tender kind of romance in this that often slips away. But D’Lee captures this feeling in her song, celebrating the anticipation of love. Absolutely recommend!
