Adam Leon has released “Big Big World,” a modern electropop single driven by a powerful sense of freedom. When I first played the track, I was immediately overwhelmed by that feeling.
Believe it or not, this single is perhaps the best example, at least in my memory, of how modern electropop can sound monumental while remaining equally tangible and sincere.
From a production standpoint, the track is wonderful, with nothing to add or take away. The rhythm section here is more than adequate, while the electronics “push” the track forward, creating a sense of unstoppable movement.
At the same time, the arrangement is never overloaded. Every sound is in its place, with nothing unnecessary. The song’s title speaks for itself and reflects the lyrical essence well.
This is a track about limitless possibilities and about the world being available to anyone who is even slightly ready to touch it. The vocals sound calm and confident, without shouting or strain. And that makes it hit even harder. In just over three minutes, the song somehow manages to build a wall of sound that does not feel oppressive at all.
I sincerely recommend it.
