After the sunny glow of “La La Love Song”, Michael Waters swings the lens somewhere bigger. “Requiem For Earth” trades romance for something far weightier, the ground under all our feet.
“Requiem For Earth is a very moving love song for a planet in peril,” Waters says, and the arrangement backs that up completely. Electro-acoustic guitar, restrained drums, nothing crowding the vocal. The whole record breathes on purpose, giving the lyrics room to land without distraction.
Waters says he knew what he had the moment he finished writing it. “Requiem For Earth”, built for right now, when people are staring straight at the Earth’s beauty and its fragility at the same time. That awareness shaped every choice in the studio, and the result feels intimate even while it’s saying something universal.
He’s building real momentum lately. His recent releases have already earned international recognition. “A Baby Of My Own”, performed by Kacey Greene, spent ten weeks on the World Indie Music Chart and hit No. 12. “The Boy Who Really Loved You”, cut by Below The Parapet, climbed to No. 4.
