There is a beautiful Japanese concept called wabi sabi. It is entirely devoted to the ability to see beauty in imperfection and impermanence. The Swedish trio ViVii translated that concept into “Temporary”.
The single that catches the fleeting moment when, on the edge of consciousness, you already understand something is changing, even though the event itself is still unfolding.
From a purely technical standpoint, the song also rests on contrasts. The groove is soft. Layers of light guitar lines grow on top of it. The vocal alternates between gathering into a choral glow and dissolving into echo.
The production deserves attention too. The track was produced in a studio on an industrial outskirt, so the result comes without gloss, and certainly without pomp, but with a surprisingly warm and living texture. Give it a try. I think you will like it.
